BLURB
The darkest secrets hide in plain sight.
When Freya Thorne finds a woman’s body on the beach, she is swept back into the nightmare of the past. She knows the similarities to her daughter’s tragic death cannot be a coincidence, but nobody will believe her.
Letters arrive with chilling threats. This stalker knows more about Freya than any stranger could. Weird sounds disrupt her nights, and she knows someone’s been in her house. As the stalker draws Freya into a terrifying game, she uncovers more questions than answers. Her life is being threatened, and she doesn’t know who to trust. Someone has been pulling her strings, and that someone is determined she must suffer. Because Freya broke a promise. And promises aren’t meant to be broken.
MY REVIEW
When I say you’ll never guess who the stalker is, I mean it! I would have never figured it out. Stibbe did such a great job not revealing too much in order for the reader to figure it out. I do wish there were a little more back and forth between Edward and Freya, more notes or more texts, but that’s a personal preference just because I like that aspect of the book. The book was a little slower than I normally like, but the last 4th of it was not slow at all. There are a handful of chapters that kept me on the edge of my seat. Stibbe made the author so smart, one step ahead and I appreciate that in a character that is a stalker. Overall, a good thriller!
