Many thanks to the author for the ARC of this book!
In this wonderfully heartwarming new rom-com from Letizia Lorini, we meet Amelie, a girl who seemingly has her life together. She’s been with her boyfriend for what feels like forever, she works for her dad at his restaurant, and hopes to be promoted to head chef. She also has wonderful friends – Martha and Barbara. She meets Ian Roberts at Barbara’s wedding and they become friends. Then a year later, her life explodes. She’s single, has no job, and her friendships with everyone seem to be on the fritz. She attends a cooking conference in Ian’s hometown and it’s there she learns who Ian really is – the son of her business rival…. and he only wants friendship.
In this dual timeline story, we grow to love both characters for differing reasons. I loved Amelie because she is a strong woman. She knows what she wants, even if it takes her some time to get there. Ian is another really great book boyfriend. I think I felt bad for him more than I did for Amelie after her disaster of a relationship with whatshisname. The chemistry between Ian and Amelie, the banter, it was written perfectly. You could feel the chemistry between these two characters. My ONLY critique is that sometimes when the chapter ended on a high note, and went to the other timeline, I lost a bit of the chemistry and it may have taken me a bit for it to build back up again. BUT that’s probably just a me thing, and it doesn’t take away from the overall greatness of the book.
For those of who you love a great rom-com, with some spice added in, you need to read this book. Ian really is perfect, haha.
This will be available on September 15, so pre-order (or order it if you read this after 9/15) here!
