Anonymous Mom Posts

“People think a screen gives them some type of exemption from common decency.”

This book really does emulate everything that is FB mom groups! Laura, realtor and admin to the local mom’s FB group, does her best to moderate the page. She had been getting messages from other women asking her to post things for them so that it was anonymous. So she turned on the anonymous feature. People are NOT nice. Everyone has a secret, everyone has an opinion and it’s easy to have one when you’re hiding behind a screen. Laura wants to bring these women together so she plans a charity event. But one mom is trying to seek revenge.

This comes across as a lighthearted and easy to read book which includes the postings in the online group. But in actuality, this book explores the need for human connection, the need to have someone to talk to rather than post anonymously on an online group. It also touches upon the fact that we all have different things that we deal with in our lives. Rough times in marriages, rough family life, exploring sexuality, and being able to accept ones self. We need to remember that we only have one life and we shouldn’t judge what someone is going through. We really need to remember to lift each other up in good times and in difficult times.
