Resting Scrooge Face

By: Meghan Quinn

“Even during our time apart, even when our hearts were both shattered, it’s always been you. Always and forever.”

Oh my gosh, this was the cutest book! Nola comes back to town after a bad breakup, wanting nothing to do with Christmas. Caleb, the boy who broke her heart years ago, still lives in town and she knows she’s destined to run into him. Arden, the mailman, gives Nola a mysterious letter. She is intrigued and writes back. This results in the mysterious writer and Nola writing back and forth to each other, with Arden exchanging the letters. Arden knows that the mystery pen pal is Caleb, but Nola has no idea. She softens to the author, but her and Caleb can’t stand each other. Caleb begins to soften to Christmas, and Nola. Can these two figure it out?

I loved the concept of this short story! At only 80 pages, Quinn packs everything in to make this a complete story. You’ll hate these characters for being annoying, but then you’ll fall in love with these characters. All the letters included in the story really made it move forward and set the atmosphere. If you love a good Christmas romance, one that is short and easy to read, then you really need to try this book.
