The Minute I Saw You

By: Paige Toon

Paige Toon is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors! In this amazing novel, Hannah meets Sonny and he quickly tells her that he’s sworn of sex because he’s working on himself. What we come to find is that Sonny has a secret that he has held on to and is going to therapy to not only work that out, but to be a better person. Hannah relates to Sonny somewhat, as she has her own secret as well. But their attraction is instant. They connect and spend a lot of time together. Are they able to tear down their walls to let the other in?

It’s hard not to feel bad for both characters are some point in this novel, but to equally root for them. But I really felt for Sonny. What he had been through is horrific. I’m so glad that therapy was really at the center of healing for both of these characters.

That being said, Sonny was definitely swoon worthy. He was so sweet with Hannah. He supported her and made her realize that peoples reactions to her in the past were because they weren’t good people; that their reactions had nothing to do with her. Toon artfully gave these characters instant chemistry but spent time building up their feelings. I loved these two characters together.

There was also a great cast of supporting characters – especially Matilda and Archie. Fun and supportive. They really were the best without outshining the main characters.

I can’t wait to read another Toon book!
