Zero Days

By: Ruth Ware

This book pleasantly surprised me. I haven’t been a huge fan of Ware’s other books that I have read, but this one I liked! Jack and her husband Gabe work as penetration specialists to see where companies have holes in their security. After one job, Jack comes home to find Gabe dead – murdered. At first she voluntarily speaks with police but when it comes clear that she is the main suspect, she goes on the run. Now she is determined to prove that she didn’t murder her husband and find out who did.

This is a fast paced, action packed thriller. I’ve seen some reviews that say that his flee to prove my innocence trope is overdone, but I thought that this one was done particularly well. I also really enjoyed that we found out part of the who around the middle of the book, but that the action and suspense didn’t stop there.

Jack is very strong and very determined. She is smart and skilled. She’s probably one of the strongest FMC that I have read. This is a well written book, though I do think there is a little too much description. But I did enjoy that there was a lot of dialogue. For me, dialogue really pushes a story forward.

I’ve seen in other reviews that people were able to guess about who was involved with Gabe’s murder, however, I was no able to guess. I also didn’t even try to guess. I was just so engrossed in the action that I didn’t stop to think about it!

I would recommend this book. Check out here if you’re interested.
