With Any Luck

“Because the way he kisses feels like the way I fall in love, sharp and quick and deep.”

Audrey Love is the self proclaimed “girl before;” you know the one, the girlfriend before the guy finds his forever. The one he dates before he finds the one that he wants to marry. So while she has inconsequential luck in other areas of her life, like finding the closest parking spot, she doesn’t have luck in love. Her best friend Rhett is getting married, and she’s the best man. His fiance’s maid of honor is her best friend, Theo. The morning of the wedding, the groom is no where to be found. Now it’s up to Audrey and Theo to find him. Will Audrey finally be lucky in love?

This is told in a dual timeline, from the present day wedding, to the night before during the bachelor party. This felt very much like “The Hangover” for me. In fact, the author even referenced the movie in the book. That is until a certain point. I liked that we learned that Theo and Audrey had met before, but I wish we had more about that interaction. Especially because this is supposed to be the Improbable Meet Cute and they already had met and more. However, I did enjoy the chemistry between Audrey and Theo.

I do think this could have been made into a full length novel, and I probably would have enjoyed that one too!
