Reese Landry is Orleans University baseball all-star. Vivienne wants NOTHING to do with him, but he wants her. He’s rich, he’s charming, he’s handsome, and most people are easily charmed by him, except Vivienne. When Vivienne finds out that she has to give up her housing at school, he offers the extra room at his place for her. It’s a last resort; it’s literally the only option she has. She implemented rules, and asked him not to cross any lines. But keeping him at arm’s length is not as easy as she thought it was going to be. He’s not what she thought he was; he’s actually sweet. Vivienne’s life is a mess though, and she’s not in the place for a relationship. Soon enough, lines will be blurred.
This book is SPICY! There’s no easing into it either. This is a new to me author, so I didn’t expect it, but it was very well written. I loved how comfortable each other characters were who they are and what they wanted physically. And also how giving they were to the other.
The dynamic between Vivienne and Reese was AMAZING. I haven’t read a book with a dynamic such as theirs. She’s sassy and sweet, and he’s arrogant and sweet. The banter between the two is great. There are so many sweet and cheesy moments between the two (but there are also some hot moments between the two). Reese is a manly man, but also a cinnamon roll. He’s protective and caring. It made for a lot of heart stopping moments that make you say “aww!”
Towards the end of the book, I balled my eyes out for different reasons. I’m not going to give those away because I don’t want to give anything in the book away. But, if you tend to cry in books, get your tissues ready!
