ABOUT THE BOOK

Tabitha Locke suspects she must be the only twenty-nine-year-old in the UK who doesn’t own a mobile phone. She has a good reason not to.

When she fled to Bath and her grandfather’s vintage key shop, all Tabitha wanted was to hide from the world. And for three years she does precisely that – until she meets a handsome IT expert.

Appealing to her love of history, Rhys Flint persuades her to show him around the city, and gradually she begins to believe in love again, despite what happened in the past. But a secret can’t stay hidden forever, and when it raises its head, Tabitha is terrified Rhys will find out.

With her feelings for him starting to grow, will Tabitha keep her heart locked up tight or will Rhys be the key to her happiness?

MY REVIEW

This is such a sweet book. While it takes place in the modern day, it does give such a great nod to nostalgia for simpler times. The author did a great job describing the store, I pictured it so well that I really wanted to visit it. Are there are really stores like this?

Davies had me curious as to what happened with Tabitha’s last boyfriend. I couldn’t wait to find out. But more importantly, I loved how understanding Rhys was. Honestly, I couldn’t ever imagine having patience to be with someone who didn’t have a cell phone, as ashamed as I am to say that! It is a slow burn romance but it works for this book; it works because of who Tabitha is and her background. While she finds a lock for the box he brings to the store, he unlocks Tabitha’s heart.

Oh – and her grandfather was the BEST side character. Have to give him a nod as I would love to see him in another book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Liz Davies writes feel-good, light-hearted stories with a hefty dose of romance, a smattering of humour, and a great deal of love.

She’s married to her best friend, has one grown-up daughter, and when she isn’t scribbling away in the notepad she carries with her everywhere (just in case inspiration strikes), you’ll find her searching for that perfect pair of shoes. She loves to cook but isn’t very good at it, and loves to eat – she’s much better at that! Liz also enjoys walking (preferably on the flat), cycling (also on the flat), and lots of sitting around in the garden on warm, sunny days.
