Many thanks to Valentine PR and Piper Rayne for the ARC of this book!
Hudson and Palmer have one wild night together that resulted in Adley. Now they live in a small town in Alaska, next door to each other as best friends, and are co-parenting. Hudson is seeing Theresa, and Palmer is trying to write her next book. But, Hudson and Palmer have been arguing a lot lately. The way things were had been so smooth for so long, but there’s a dynamic shift. Can Hudson and Palmer work it out? Is this dynamic shift feelings?
This is such a sweet and spicy book! Right off the bat I appreciated it because it was set in a place that most books are set in – a small down in Alaska. I also really loved the deaf representation in this book. From teaching sign language, to using the implants to not using them, I thought the author did a really great job writing a character whose decisions around her deafness made sense to the character.
I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but even without knowing these characters, I loved them all. I felt the closeness of Palmer’s family, how fun Harper is, how sweet Adley is, and how fun those retirement ladies are! Phew, that scene with Palmer at the retirement home made me laugh out loud.
Now, let’s get to the romance. Hudson is PERFECT for Palmer. Not a perfect guy, but perfect for her. He’s total hot cinnamon roll. I love how much he loves his daughter. Single dads taking care of their kids is always attractive. I enjoyed how well these two knew each other, but that Hudson also tried to push Palmer a little out of her comfort zone. It was really sweet.
Okay, I’ll stop gushing about this book. You need to just go pick it up and read it.
