Playing in the Mud

Thank you to the author for providing a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was a different read for me. Mainly I read thrillers, mysteries, romances, some historical fiction, general fiction etc… But when the author asked me if I would be interested in reading this, I jumped at the chance. When I was a kid, I really loved reading Shel Silverstein books – Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Giving Tree etc… This book brought back those memories for me. Also, I have a 7 year old son that I thought would enjoy this as well. And I was right! He did!

Some of the poems really made us laugh. My son related to some of the poems as well, such as building forts and being mad. One of the poems in particular, The Wundletun, reminded me of Dr. Seuss.

This book is really for all ages, but especially older elementary school kids. The illustrations are fantastic and I think all kids will enjoy this book.
