The Widow’s Husband’s Secret Lie

By: Freida McFadden

This is a satirical novella, and man did she do this well. Alice lost her husband Grant in a car accident. But when she’s out and about, she keeps seeing him everywhere. It’s haunting her.

OMG, this book had every overdone trope in it that you could think of! It was also funny. I think a reader really needs to understand that this is meant to be over the top. I really enjoyed it, even if it wasn’t a satirical novel!

I don’t want to give too much away because I want readers to be able to laugh, but just a few things that I found funny: the covid test, the LED lights, and the blue/black white/gold dress discussion. It was all so great, and I wasn’t expecting to laugh as much as I did. And the ending! I feel like I couldn’t have stayed and read more after that!!!

This was just plain fun to read, and it’s a novella, so it’s a really quick read. I hope anyone that reads this book enjoyed it as much as I did!
