I was so excited for book three in the Plain Daisy Ranch series that I started reading it nearly as soon as I got it. These Noughton boys have stolen my heart! In this third installment, we focus on Emmett and Briar. Brian is returning home after a bad breakup. Only, there’s no where for her to stay, so she winds up staying with Emmett. Emmett is the boy she has hated since she was a freshman in high school, but he doesn’t know why. He has a terrible reputation of being a player, but Briar is different. Can she get over her hatred of him?
I don’t know which one of these Noughton boys I like more! They are all equally sweet in their own ways. I love that Emmett is his own person. As much as they want him to take over the Ranch, he has his own ideas. He somewhat plays into his reputation but deep down he is so much more. It was so nice getting to see who he really is.
Really for me, it’s the little things between them that make them a really cute couple. It’s also the banter. Oh the banter! She gives it back to him as much as he gives it to her. I love a smart witted female character.
There is also such a strong sense of family in these books, and this one is no different. Obviously the main focus is Briar and Emmett, but the Noughton family is really close, and they welcome others into their family. This is the type of family the I could only dream of having. When people ask if you could teleport into a book world, which world would it be, for me, this is the one I choose. Small town romance and fantastic family.
I love Piper Rayne’s writing and will continue reading this author!
