WOW!!! 3 couples haven’t seen each other in sixteen months; Covid hit and they couldn’t see each other. Now they had the opportunity to spend the night away together. None of the couples are perfect, but they’ve been friends for a while and they just want to have a good night. But what happens at Echo Lake is worse than a pandemic. There is something mysterious happening at Echo Lake, will everyone make it out?

Falank has a way with words. This is not my first book by this author, so I already knew this. His descriptions are some of the best that I have read; they are short but with enough detail for the reader to be able to envision exactly what he wants you to envision. The book starts off with setting up the couples and their marital issues. That part was a little slow for me, but I’m always looking to get straight into the good stuff!

Once the mysterious things started happening, I was all in. I wanted to know what was happening, why it was happening, and how it was all going to end. I will say, I’m not quite sure I understand the explanation LoL. I did re-read a few sections over and I’m still not quite sure I get it. But it could be that I’m super overtired and overworked that my brain isn’t functioning correctly! The ending also was also kind of left a little open ended, so I’m wondering/hoping that there will be a sequel!

This is a perfect book for those that love mysteries.
