In this second installment of the Martha’s Vineyard Murders, Kyra Gibson returns to the house that she has inherited after her father passed and investigating his murder with Detective Tarek Collins. A storm uncovers a shipwreck of a pirate ship, treasure hunters and conservationists swarm the area, and two people wind up dead. Pub owner Gully gets arrested for their murder, and Kyra gets caught up in trying to prove his innocence.
I feel like Ray’s writing has only gotten stronger in this second installment. She wrote such a great murder mystery. I loved seeing the characters from the first book making an appearance in this book, plus the introduction of new characters. The plot was new and refreshing.
The ending of the book kept me on the edge of my seat. It really was a page turner. Once the murderer was revealed, which in and of itself was a shock, but then it got even better!
This book, this series, is perfect for those who love murder mysteries.
