Many thanks to Hambright PR for the gifted copy of this book!

Matthew Fishberger, or Fish, is a bass guitarist in a band, 22 Goats. He’s never been in love, and never really had a real girlfriend. He wants what his other bandmates have – real love, someone who loves him for him, and not because he’s in a famous band. Alessandra is a music student who happens to be at the same place as Fish. She’s young and quirky. She’s never had a boyfriend – never even had a first kiss! They meet and hit it off. But the day and evening don’t go as he had planned, and before he knows it, she’s heading back across the country. How could they make anything work anyway? He’s willing to try!

This is a VERY sweet book. I mean, you can get a toothache from how sweet it is. It’s still a great book! I really loved Matthew’s character for the most part – I mean I do love me a cinnamon roll MMC. Ally was a great character too. It was nice to see each of them come into themselves and become more confident in various aspects of their lives.

I do have to remember that when the book starts off, she’s only 19. At times, I thought she was a little immature and then I had to remember, she’s only 19. When I remembered that, her actions and things she said, made sense. Even the repetitiveness did too.

Either way, I was fully invested in these characters and this couple. I couldn’t put the book down and just wanted to read it all day. I also REALLY enjoyed that there was no third act break up because it wouldn’t have made sense for these characters. There was a “problem” that needed to be solved, and it was. I think the author making choice was the perfect choice for these characters.

Overall, this was a fun read and romance readers will love this one!
