My Review

This was a good read. Told in alternating time periods, the past and the present, we learn about what is currently happening during the investigation of Lola’ death and the events leading up to her death. I think this format really worked for this book. It leaves you wanting more and it also brings you right into the scene.

This books is filled with toxic relationships between women who met at the school gates. I mean… this happens. I understand the feeling of being insecure. I really felt for Lola. I grew up in a single parent household since my parents were divorced. It’s hard being “different” among other kids, and being the mom that is different.

I will say, I did feel like the book was a little drawn out at times. If you’ve ready any of my reviews, you know that I really enjoy reading dialogue. There wasn’t enough of it in here for me. There were giant paragraphs of descriptions, which I could have done without.

I had a feeling that I knew what was going to happen, at least to some degree, and I was correct! I seem to be o a roll lately. Anyway, this is out now, so check it out!
