Forget Me Not

By: Stacy Willingham

Many thanks to Minotaur books for the ARC of this book!

Claire’s older sister, Natalie, went missing 22 years ago. Her bloody shirt was found in a man’s car, he was arrested, convicted, and has since been in prison. Claire always felt like it was her fault. She left town as soon as she could and hasn’t been back. Now a call from her father brings her back. She decides to take a summer job at Galloway Farms, a place that her sister once worked. It’s scenic and beautiful. That is until she finds a diary of one of the vineyard owners that reveals details of various unsolved crimes. As the days go on, Claire believes something more sinister has been happening at Galloway and that it’s somehow connected to Natalie.

This was a good book, but not a great book. Unfortunately, this was a very slow paced thriller and slow paced thrillers just aren’t for me. The book did pick up towards the end, but I don’t want to wait until close to the end in order to get into some action.

I didn’t quite understand why the diary was written in the third person point of view – wouldn’t a diary be written in the first person point of view? I’m not sure I understand that choice that the author made.

I did enjoy the mystery part of the book. There were some twists that I didn’t see coming, and I did not see the book ending the way that it did. I always enjoy good twists – especially when I can’t figure them out!

Overall, this was just okay for me. If you like slow burn mysteries/thrillers, then check this one out! It’ll be out on August 26, 2025!
