Hollyn was 18 years old when she fell in love with Nate Tucker. He was rich, she was poor. They were both graduating high school and going to separate colleges across the United States from each other. On the night he was going to take the next step, she left and he hasn’t heard from her since. Now her Aunt Verna has passed away and she’s home. She was also presented with a great opportunity to film a home renovations show. But Nate Tucker is everywhere – including the film set..he’s one of the producers. He’s determined to make her realize that they work together, the he still feels the same. She’s determined to make him realize that she’s going to leave again. Why does she have such tough walls up, and can he break them down?
This was a cute book! I love a good second chance romance. When the characters have a back story, it really helps with the chemistry between the two, and I felt it here. There were moments that I really wanted to feel a little bit more, but it was there.
I really enjoyed how protective Nate was of Hollyn, but also how protective Hollyn was of Kinsley. Each of them willing to make sacrifices for those that they care about, both so selfless.
There were some spicy scenes in this book as well – they weren’t the best written scenes, and one came out of no where. They also weren’t the worst ones I’ve ever read. They did feel a little stale after the first or second, felt like the were the same each time.
Overall, a good read.
