Dani Bernal is the social media manager for the Rose City Roasters and Brooks is the team manager. They are HOT for each other. Dani is slightly closed off and wants to keep things professional. Brooks definitely has some feelings. New Year’s Eve makes for a steamy situation… and a pregnancy. Brooks’ is already a dad, but Dani is afraid to tell him. Not sure how he’s going to react, and not sure about what she wants. This is the third installment of the Rose City Roasters, but can be read as a standalone.
There are aspects about this book that I absolutely loved and there are aspects of this book that I could have done without. I absolutely loved Brooks and Dani. I loved who they are as people and their personalities. Dani is sassy and fun. Brooks is such a cinnamon roll MMC at heart. He’s thoughtful and sweet. The scenes of him and his daughter really make your heart melt.
This book has a ton of spice in it. More than it really needed. There are definitely some places in the book that it really fit, and it was decently written. But honestly, it was overkill and I started to just skip those scenes. After a while, I wanted more of the non spicy scenes, the scenes where you get to read about the real connection between Dani and Brooks.
Overall, it was a good book. I’m not the biggest fan of the surprise pregnancy trope, but it worked in this book.
