“That’s me, a real gentlemen. Grab her hand in the streets and her hair in the sheets.”
For Nico “Junior” Trocci, Lauren Marchetti has always been off limits, even in high school. He was warned to stay away from her then, but now he has no reason to. She is no longer the girl he remembers; she’s now a confident woman involved in a play club and has an online platform as her full time job. He’s never quite gotten over her, and he’s determined to make her his.
Unfortunately, the description of this book sounds darker than the actual book. I wanted it to be a real dark romance, more like Lights Out, but it wasn’t. This was just a spicy romance book really, with an occasional reminder that Nico was in the mafia. Yes, they were into BDSM, but really, it was so light that it wasn’t really there. Honestly, I was disappointed. It took me longer to read this book as I just kept falling asleep.
The whole book we hear that Nico wants to get out of the family business and somehow that solves itself within a few pages. There’s trust issues between Lauren and Nico, and again, that’s resolved within a few pages. It seems like any of the plot of lines were resolved within a few pages and then between all that is just spice. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two characters like I would have liked either. I was just disappointed with this one. The whole stalker thing wasn’t REALLY stalker for me either. It all just fell flat.
I hope the third book is better – I’ll probably still read it!
