Many thanks to Happily Booked PR for the ARC of this book!
Petra’s brother is getting married to Fiona, a girl that used to make fun of Petra in high school. But her brother has “leveled” up – he’s started his own company, is wealthy, and is marrying wealthy. Petra, on the other hand, never finished college, is a disaster, needs her brother’s help to pay to finish college, and works as a bartender. Oh yeah, and she’s been pining for Bryce since she’s been 15. Fiona moves the wedding up due to an opening at a prestigious location in Mexico and Petra doesn’t want to go. Bryce convinces her, says he needs her there and so does her brother. Petra goes, things get heated with her and Bryce. Things also get sketchy.
This is the third book in the Hot Mess Summer serious, but it can 100% be read as a standalone. It simultaneously takes place as the other two books, which works out really well because even if you don’t read the others, there’s no need to “catch up” in order to read this one.
Petra’s personality is the best. She’s brazen and down to earth. She’s the opposite of what you find in the richy rich world and doesn’t apologize for who she is. She is comfortable in her own skin and knows what she wants. Bryce is also a great character. He’s pushed into this world against his will because he’s born into it. Petra brings out a side of him that has always been there, but has never really come out. She really compliments him and their chemistry is off the charts hot. There were some side characters in this book that I really loved as well, Hana, Nigel, and Sebastian! I’m sensing a spin off book for Hana!
This book is full of funny moments, steamy moments, honest moments, and heartwarming moments. I really loved all three books in this series and I highly recommend any of the three books. All are out now!
