Take This Heart

By: Willow Aster

Many thanks to Valentine PR for the ARC of this book!

Goldie and Milo have a brief run sexy in, but she never expected to see him in Windy Harbor, Minnesota. She was there to see her dad, along with her brothers. What she also didn’t expect was that her dad would introduce Milo and tell her that he was working with Milo on a new project. A new project in which her dad wants all the kids’ help, including Goldies. A new project that meant her seeing Milo nearly every day. Goldie hates Milo and everything he stands for – getting rid of the old, the nostalgia and ushering in the new and modern. Right away they spar. But they can’t deny that there is a chemistry there. What Goldie doesn’t know is that Milo has a secret of his own.

This was my first introduction to this author and let me say, this won’t be the last time I read one of Aster’s books! I can’t wait to continue on with this series! I loved the verbal sparring and the banter between Goldie and Milo. Goldie is smart, sassy, quick witted, strong, and very brave. Milo, who I was unsure of at first, turned out to be this amazing cinnamon roll MMC. There is one particular scene, which I won’t describe because I don’t want to give anything away, that won me over whole heartedly. I was already on board with Milo by then, but then this put me over the edge. I cried. On top of that, he gave Goldie space when she needed it, yet he was still there for her, thought about her, thought about making her smile, and thought of amazing things to do for her.

While the relationship between Goldie and Milo evolved beautifully, some of my favorite relationships in this book were the ones that Goldie had with her dad, her brothers, and with her grandmothers. Her dad was really the heart of the family, bringing them all together. There was just SO much love there between all of them.

Romance readers, if you haven’t read this one already, do yourself a favor and read this one!
