It’s been seven years since Delaney and Bennett have seen each other or talked to each other. Now Delaney is back in Willowbrook after a mess with her soon to be ex-husband, along with her daughter. Bennett is a single dad, and the two girls become best friends. The two are continuously drawn together, if it’s not due to work, it’s because of the girls. While Delaney still has walls up, Bennett slowly breaks them down. The years do not seem to have put out the chemistry. But Delaney is holding onto a secret that could change the way Bennett feels about her, and she doesn’t know how to tell him.
This is the 5th book in the interconnected Plain Daisy Ranch series by Piper Rayne and I was here for every single minute of it. I absolutely love this series and love these characters. I also really have always loved the found family in this series. I want to go into the books and join this family. They are so warm, loving, and welcoming. They support each other and knock sense into each other when needed. It’s not perfect, but it feels like it.
In this second/third chance romance, authors Piper Rayne tackle some delicate topics as well (I don’t want to say anything so I don’t give anything away). They handled these topics with such grace. You never know how someone is going to react, and it was all handled so delicately keeping in mind the most important people that would be effected by the situation.
Now, Bennett and Delaney are end game. There is chemistry, but also such vulnerability with each other. This was not an easy journey for them, but them together made every obstacle worth it. I love these two together!!!!
