Many thanks to Torch Lit Ink for the ARC of this book!
In this enemies to lovers, single dad, hockey player romance, we meet Brie who is tasked with putting on the Mount Holly Holly Jolly Festival. This is her chance to prove to her boss that she has what it takes to receive her position when her boss retires. Brie wants to make this the best festival yet. But she has a little competition with Logan Crawford, someone she grew up despising, comes back to town and putting on a Christmas Carnival. Soon these two are in a tit-for-tat battle. Soon their battle turns steamy, until he says the wrong thing. So what does that mean for these two?
There is so much to love about this book! The setting is absolutely perfect. I love a town that loves Christmas. I could picture how festive it looked and how festive it felt. The Holly Jolly festival sounded so fun I wanted to go!
As for the characters, I loved Logan. I really did. He matured and didn’t really care about a rivalry until Brie egged it on. He also didn’t understand why she hated him so much – so it was kind of weird that Brie was holding onto the grudge 18 years later. Logan was so sweet with his daughter too, which is totally swoony worthy! Brie was okay as a character. I understand being miffed that was back and that he was putting on a Christmas event while her future was on the line for her event. But I did think she was being a little ridiculous. The banter between these two was spot on. There was a few times that I laughed out loud! And the spicy scenes were well written. I also really loved both of their families.
This was the first in the series and it was a great read. It’s the perfect read for the holiday season, so check it out!
