Many thanks for Harlequin Trade Publishing and The Hive for the ARC of this book!
Mathematician Aubrey MacLean’s life has exploded. She lost her job and has to move back to her hometown. Back in this small town there are a lot of memories of her past, especially that with Nick Thacker. Nick works for the local mill trying to make ends meet. For extra cash, he advertises writing love letters for other people. One of those people is someone who is pursuing Aubrey, but he doesn’t know that. As Aubrey tries to get her career back on track, the letters her new man is giving her feel vaguely familiar. Now she has to make a choice between the new life she built and an old love.
I absolutely loved this book! This is a multi-POV, second chance romance, dual timeline book and it had absolutely everything you could want in a book with those tropes. I loved that Aubrey had a different type of job than most FMCs in books. We learn from the past chapters that Aubrey was also a cheerleader in high school, but that she wasn’t a typical cheerleader. When Nick was the new kid, she was the one that connected with him while others bullied him. They had a connection like no others have ever had. These two were fated. There were scenes that you could feel the tension and the chemistry. I was so invested in these two.
At the same time, Aubrey is trying to resuscitate her career. A co-worker had stolen her work and she wanted to prove it, and get her job back. Nick also had some secrets that were being kept from him. I won’t say anything else about that because I don’t do spoilers. I will say this, Nick is the kind of man that any woman could want. Thanks to this author for giving me another book boyfriend!
I can’t wait for this book to be released to the masses, I think it’s going to be really loved.
