This was the absolute perfect book to end my season of reading so many holiday books! I love them, but now I want to move on to some non-holiday books. However, if you’re going to read one more holiday book, make sure it’s this one!
This is such a great sweet and spicy Christmas romance. Cameron is a single dad, a football player, a grump, and doesn’t like the holidays. He needs a nanny to help take care of his daughter, Sophia, while he’s busy with football. Enter Holly, his teammates sister who “has a degree in babies.” She agrees to help. As she falls in love with Sophia, she starts to fall for Cameron as well. The feelings seem mutual, but he’s her boss, and lines shouldn’t be crossed.
This is an easy to read book, and everything flows so nicely that you can’t stop reading! At least, I didn’t want to stop. The chemistry between these two is perfect. They both don’t want to cross the line so it starts with glances, and internal thoughts. Then there’s an almost kiss and as a reader you lean into it, hoping it will happen. I got attached to this couple, cheering them on, hoping they could figure it out. We’re able to get to know what they are both thinking being that this is a dual POV book.
The Christmas atmosphere in this book is really cozy. It wasn’t over the top, but Holly loves Christmas and I feel like she can make anyone love Christmas. I will say that some of the declarations by Cameron can be a bit cheesy at times, but overall, it gives you all the feels.
So if you’re looking for a short, sweet, and spicy holiday read, this is the one you’ll want to read.
