This book is the true definition of a cozy mystery. The book’s prologue will make you laugh with the very first paragraph and then the last line of it will get you!! So what is this book about? It’s about a group of seniors at a retirement community that solves cold cases. The cast of characters is led by sugar heiress Diana. Then there’s the tarot reading twins, a nurse that can communicate with animals, a retired detective, and then of course, Mr. Anderson. These group of seniors helps solve cold cases. At the same time, there’s people dropping like flies at the retirement community. Are they related, or are these people really dying of natural causes?

Orr writes such a dynamic cast of characters and the cast makes the book. If these characters weren’t as eccentric as they are, this book would not be as good as it is. Every character is interesting and unique. They don’t really have anything much in common except for living in this community and being really great at solving cold cases.

I love that these characters are sort of reinventing themselves. It emphasizes that as you get older, you don’t have to just “wait to die, ” that even when you’re older, there are still many things that you can do. Even fall in love.

Lastly, the reveal at the end is AMAZING!!! I didn’t see that coming at all. I was kept wondering throughout the whole book what was happening at the retirement community, as Orr’s writing keeps you guessing.
