What It Takes

By: Willow Aster

Many thanks to Valentine PR for the ARC of this book!

This is the second book in the Windy Harbor Series, but can be read as a standalone. We’re back with Juliana (JuJu) and Camden. They’ve known each other since they were 5 and 7, respectively. They used to be friends, but then one day Camden starting noticing JuJu. JuJu’s brother and Camden agreed to never date each other’s sisters. So Camden starting treating JuJu differently, and they starting to hate each other. Now Camden is back in Windy Harbor. And he’s opening a restaurant there. JuJu owns the bakery there, and between how close their families are, and the businesses they are in, they keep running into each other. Fighting at first, but is there something there?

Aster writes another sweet romance, with the friends to enemies to lovers trope. Camden and JuJu’s “hatred” for each other was fun, but we all knew that it was going to change. These two were made for each other, really. It was fun to read these two find their way back to each other – it’s always been them for each other! The story is told in dual timelines, so we get to see Camden and JuJu interact when they were children. It was super sweet!!!!!

I also loved that the full cast of characters was back, Camden’s family, and then we got to meet JuJu’s family too! It was tons of fun! I can’t help but love the two grandma’s and the fact that they were big flirts in this book was so much fun! We also know that the friendship/talking bench is now open. I’d love to see more of that in the upcoming books.

Overall, a sweet, romance read!
