Nell Masters is just living her life, working at a charity, dating Alex, and hiding her past. It’s been years since she’s been Elle Nugent and saw a murdered girl get into a car with a stranger. She became obsessed with finding the killer, and was convinced she found him. She found herself doing things she never thought she would do. Now she feels like someone is following her, she can sense it. She knows this person has been in her house. But who is following her? Could it be someone from her past?
This was a really great read. Paris mostly alternates between Nell’s different points of view – one in the present, and one in the past. It’s how we learn about what she was hiding in her past and how things are going in the present. Once in a while we then get a chapter from “The Notebook.” This is where we read about someone wanting to kill Nell. But we don’t know who, at least not until the end.
It was hard not to be suspicious of a few different characters in the book! Paris does a great job making you second guess everyone and everything. So I never guessed the who or even the why, but it was very twisted! When it was revealed, I was very shocked!!
So if you like a quick read, that’ll keep you guessing, with the best twist, pick this one up!
