Dear Debbie

By: Freida McFadden

“If I didn’t force myself to go to the gym several times a week, I would murder everyone on my block.”

Debbie is an advice columnist at a local newspaper. People write in asking for advice, and provides that advice. One particular piece of advice causes Debbie to lose her job. Her life seems to be spiraling. Her husband is keeping secrets from her, and her daughter is kicked off the soccer team, among other things. Debbie makes the decision to exact revenge.

This was such a fun read! It wasn’t quite as “dark” as some of McFadden’s other books, but it was still enjoyable. I know Debbie is supposed to be a villain here, but it’s hard not to like her. She’s very smart, she’s clever, observant, and knows exactly how to go about getting revenge.

One of the reasons that I love McFadden’s books is that they flow so easily which makes them easy to read. I had no idea that in such a short while I was nearly halfway through the book! It was the perfect read for me right now. I needed something that I liked that was written well.

I had my suspicions about some things, but there were definitely some twists at the end that were revealed that I never caught onto. That’s another thing that I love about McFadden books. There’s always at least one twist that I never saw coming. I don’t know how she does it!

If you haven’t read this one yet, what are you waiting for? Check it out!
