Ask for Andrea

By: Noelle W. Ihli

“… the people we love are not gone forever. That everything we ever loved, ever did, ever said, ever read, ever experienced, comes back to us.”

Meghan, Skye, and Brecia all have something in common. They were murdered by the same man. He met them all through a dating website (or in a coffee shop). He goes on dates with them and then kills them, leaving them to maybe never be found. The only thing that can stop him now, are the three women he killed. They have found each other and are trying everything they can to stop him so that he doesn’t kill again. But can they be successful?

I think I’m really loving books that have ghosts in them! What I enjoyed most about this book is that it’s so different than anything that I’ve read. Ghosts exacting revenge? Yes please! I also liked that we knew who the killer was ahead of time, and that the point of the book was stopping him. I know there are a few books out there like that, but I feel like in a majority of books, we’re trying to find out who the killer is.

Reading this book, I felt like one of the ghosts. I wanted to scream at the women he was dating the same way that the ghosts were trying to scream at them. I wanted to get into this world and try to stop him myself. I wanted to shake the police and say, “why are you not doing anything?” I felt for these girls. It’s scary out there, especially meeting people online. And they seemingly did everything right. I wanted to hug these ghosts!

Ihli also introduced this afterlife world that maybe some have never thought about. Yes, they are hanging around, but at least one has a special ability to tap into others that passed and then come right back to where she was. It was very creative, and I loved the moments of love in some of those memories.

I’m late to the party reading this now, but I’m glad that I read it! If you haven’t yet, make sure to check it out!
