Thank you to Netgalley and Headline for the ARC of this book!
What would you do if you woke up in a psychiatric unit and were told that the baby you think you had with your husband didn’t exist? That’s what happened to Megan. She believes that she’s been pregnant and had a baby, Luka. Now she is determined to find out the truth, but she can’t trust anyone, including herself.
This was just an okay book for me. It was a good, interesting read, but it wasn’t gripping, it wasn’t suspenseful, and definitely not chilling. I’m not sure if it’s the book or it’s me, though. I’ve read a lot of really great books recently, and when this one didn’t have me on the edge of my seat, I thought it was just okay. The author really does have a good number of twists in the book, one I suspected and a few that I didn’t see coming. One of the things I did love about this book is the support Megan’s family had for her as she was getting help for her mental illness, no matter what. It brought tears to my eyes.
