“Sometimes, even when you start with the last page and you think you know everything, a book finds a way to surprise you.“
Nora Stephens is a damn good literary agent, her clients love her, and work is her life. The irony of it is that as she is surrounded by books all day, her love life is a romance novel trope. No, she isn’t the girl that gets the guy, she’s the girl the guy leaves for another girl. She has one constant, flourishing relationship in her life – her sister, Libby. Libby, who is pregnant with her third child, asks Nora to go on vacation to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. The location of one of her author’s novels. Libby is armed with a list of small town to-dos, including dating a small town man. But what Nora does expect is to run into Charlie, an arrogant book editor. Through a series of circumstances, they keep winding up in each other’s presence. Will Nora’s life change?
This book was FANTASTIC! It is hilariously charming with many laugh out loud moments. Right off the bat, the book had me laughing. I really enjoyed Nora’s quick wit, and the exchanges of quick wit between Nora and Charlie. It really made me smile. I haven’t read a character with that much wit in a long time (I guess it’s because I usually real thriller books!) The other thing that I really loved about this book was the relationship between the sisters. I’ve never had a sister, but this sure made me want one! The love between them is so genuine. And it’s that relationship that made me shed some tears reading this book.
If you enjoy a good romantic comedy book, this one is for you! For those of you that haven’t read it yet, you can get your copy here.
