Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book!
Maddie and Kiara have been best friends since University. Maddie, married to Nathan, and Kiara, married to David, have been a group of friends since University. When the police knock on Maddie’s door one day to let her konw that Kiara was dead, via suicide, Maddie couldn’t believe it. She knew her friend and never imagined that Kiara would kill herself. Maddie asks the police to reopen the investigation and what ensues is the untangling of a web of lies and the realization that no one is who they seem.
This was a good book, but maybe just a little longer than it needed to be. I felt like some parts were drawn out, and some of it was repetitive. Browne did a great job of keeping the reader guessing but also tried to ram a suspect down the reader’s throat. I felt that was a very juvenile move. There are three major twists in the book, I was able to guess the first two but not the third one. The plot line was very interesting and I did want to keep reading. Overall, a very decent read.
This book will be released on July 19, 2022. You can pre-order it here.
