Reminders of Him

By: Colleen Hoover

“Maybe it doesn’t matter whether something is a coincidence or sign. Maybe the best way to cope with the loss of the people we love is to find them in as many places and things as we possibly can. And in the off chance that the people we lose are still somehow able to hear us, maybe we should never stop talking to them.”

Kenna Rowan is out of prison after serving 5 years. She has saved enough money to move back to the town where her troubles all began, where a tragic mistake landed her in prison. Kenna has one thought – to reunite with her 4 year old daughter. However, Kenna knows that this is not going to be easy. While in prison, her parental rights were terminated, and she doesn’t believe that she is going to be welcomed with open arms – and she’s right. Everyone that is in her daughter’s life is determined to keep Kenna away. But there is one person who hasn’t shut her out completely, Ledger Ward. He is the only one that has a relationship with Kenna’s daughter that could help her, but he’s torn. Slowly, he becomes important in Kenna’s life as well; but not many will be happy about that. Ledger risks his relationships for Kenna. These two from a bond, but will Kenna be able to be forgiven?

I devoured this book and cried my eyes out toward the end of the book. While this isn’t my “normal” type of book, I thought this was fantastic. It was an easy flowing read. It kept my engaged. I kept wanting to read more and not wanting to put it down. I felt the pull of Ledger’s thoughts and feelings throughout the book, understanding his dilemma. I was rooting for Kenna the whole time. This has been the first book where I didn’t hate any of the characters.

If you like a good romance book, then you need to read this book. Go get it here.
