The Housemaid

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Frieda McFadden for the ARC of this book!

Millie Calloway doesn’t have it easy. She’s been trying to find a job and has been living out of her car. When she lands a job as a maid for the affluent Winchester family, she is grateful. While a small stuffy room in the attic is where Millie stays in this beautiful house, she is happy to just be able to be on a bed, instead of in the backseat of her car. She is determined to make Nina, and her daughter Cece like her. She cleans the house daily, picks Cece up from school when needed, and cooks for Nina, Cece and Nina’s husband Andrew daily. Nina can be rude – rude to Millie, and rude to her husband. Mille begins to wonder why Andrew would stay with Nina. Millie soon finds out that the Winchesters are not as perfect on the outside as they may seem; they have secrets. But what the Winchesters don’t know is that Millie has secrets of her own, and they have no idea what she is capable of.

This book started off with a bang. It engaged me right away and kept me engaged the entre time. It took me less than 24 hours to read this book because it just flowed so nicely, and it is fast paced. The story is told from Nina’s and Millie’s point of view. It starts out with Millie’s and by the time you get to Nina’s, it’s shocking what is revealed. The suspense was perfectly and artfully built up throughout the entire book. I will not put any spoilers on here, but I especially loved the ending, the very chapter of the book.

This book releases on April 26, 2022, you can pre-order your copy here.
