MY REVIEW

Miranda Rijks is one of my new favorite thriller writers. My love for her books started in August 2023 when I read The Lodge, and has continued since. This book is certainly no exception. I’ll admit, I went into this book blind without even reading the synopsis. This is because when I saw the author, I knew I would love it and I didn’t want to miss out on the chance to read this book.

The book did start out a little slower for me, but that was just Rijks building suspense, which she does so skillfully. There is also an ease about Rijks writing which I really enjoy. She keeps you turning pages without even noticing.

When information is revealed to Carina, I was on the edge of my seat. I knew something was fishy, but I didn’t know how it was going to all playout. Rijks was a genius with this plot, and ALLLLL the twists – especially that last one. It really makes me want a sequel to this book because I HAVE to know!!! (That’s all I will say because I don’t want to spoil anything).

Miranda Rijks is a writer of psychological thrillers and suspense novels. She has an eclectic background ranging from law to running a garden centre.

She’s been writing all of her life and has a Masters in writing. A couple of years ago she decided to ditch the business plans and press releases and now she’s living the dream, writing suspense novels full time.

She lives in Sussex, England with her Dutch husband, musician daughter and black Labrador.

This is her twentieth psychological thriller with Inkubator Books.
