Thank you to the author for the gifted copy of the ARC!
Logan is the hottest quarterback and he plays for Miami. Haley moves back to Miami to become an analyst for the Miami team. Logan is also her brother’s best friend, and her dad coaches the team. She had a crush on Logan when she was a kid, but surely not anymore. Plus, she has a child now and so she needs to keep him in mind. But as they wound up spending more time with each other, feelings start to show. But is it worth the risk?
This is a cute and quick read. The characters are cute, the side characters are pleasant, and I loved the football aspect of the book. I did struggle with the romance part of the book just a little bit. I know we are told that Logan and Haley have known each other for a long time, but I really wish that there were some in-depth flashbacks of the two of them to really establish at least some kind of relationship, even if it was one sided. I believed that they knew each other, but I didn’t feel it. So when the two of them all of a sudden saw each other again after so many years, I didn’t feel it the way the author wanted me to feel it. When Logan said that Haley was always a certain way, it didn’t feel established to me.
I did enjoy and appreciate how protective her brother Chase was and how skeptical her father was. That felt very real.
This book is enjoyable, I just wanted to feel more chemistry between the main characters.
