It’s summer time and Andie is back at the lake house with just her mom this summer since her parents got divorced. If that wasn’t hard enough, she’s facing Patrick – her crush. They kissed last summer and then she ghosted him. Patrick’s brother Tommy is supposed to bring his girlfriend Chloe to the lake and at last he will “fit in.” But then Tommy’s girlfriend dumps him and Patrick shows up to the lake with a girlfriend. With Andie and Tommy heartbroken, they decide to be friends and support each other. Does Andie get Patrick back? Does Tommy patch things up with Chloe? Or is there a spark between them?
This was such a cute and sweet book. It was exactly what I needed when I picked it up to read it. Coming off a dense, hard to follow read, this was a breath of fresh air! The writing just flowed so nicely, it made reading it very enjoyable.
This is a YA romance read, so it really is very sweet. It starts with showing up when either Tommy or Andie text the other with SOS. Then it becomes recognizing that one needs the other without getting the text. Andie shows genuine interest in Tommy, getting to know him and who he is. I love how much she’s interesting in his writing and I really enjoy that the author put some of his writing in the book. This was it wasn’t abstract.
They both are really sweet for each other. They made me smile. I wanted to be a teenager in love again. Though it was never like this for me hahah!
This is the perfect summer read for those that like YA romance. So check it out!
