Many thanks to Berkley Romance for the ARC of this book!
The Lost Letter was filed 10 years ago staring Scarlett Everhart and Ryder Perry. They not only fell in love on screen, but they fell in love in real life. Their on screen romance captured the heart of audiences all around. But like the movie, their romance ended. Scarlett was so hurt she vowed to forget him. Now, the seaside town has been devastated by weather and a reunion of the movie has been planned in the small seaside town. At first, Scarlett says no. But when she finds out Ryder says yes, and that it would look bad if she didn’t go, she agrees to go, and try to stay away from Ryder as much as she can. He, however, has other plans. He’s determined to get answers, to explain, and to get her back.
Ugh, this was such a beautiful second chance romance. I loved reading every minute of this book. This book is told in a dual timeline format, and I loved both the present and the past. The past gives us the story we need to understand how deep the emotions were between the two. It made me feel their connection, fall in love with them while they fell in love with each other. Then when they were in the present, you root for them, or at least I did!
I love how sassy Scarlett was. She was quick witted and fun. She’s a hard worker. Ryder goes through some major life events and it changes him, at first not for the better. But then he takes a hold of his life and turns things around.
There was so much angst and yearning. I LOVED It. And the book is a closed door romance. This was my first time reading this author, but it definitely will not be my last!
