Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six

By: Lisa Unger

“If you think you can run away from this-from me-you’re wrong.  I’m right behind you.”

Six friends and family rent a cabin in the woods for a relaxing weekend away.  It is Hannah and her husband Brad, Mako (Hannah’s brother), and his wife Liza, Cricket and her new beau Joshua.  They have a private chef for them, and a wonderful view.  What could go wrong?  A storm rolls in, and the power gets shut off.  Everyone seems to have a secret.  Is there anyone that Hannah can trust?  Some is coming after them, but who? And why?

I’ve read a few of Unger’s books and I really enjoyed them.  I may be in the minority here, but this one just didn’t do it for me. There seems to be dual storylines here: who ever is after them, and Henry’s life.  These two story lines eventually come together, but just not in a satisfying way.  Honestly, I just about rolled my eyes as the whole reason why someone was after them.  I know it has been described as fast paced, but it didn’t read that way for me.  It was honestly a little boring and it took forever to get to some action.  It’s not a bad book by any means, and I know a ton of people loved it.  But, not every book is for ever person.

If you’d like to read this book, you can find it here.
