Killing Me

By: Michelle Gagnon

Thanks to NetGalley and GP Putnam Sons for the ARC of this book.

Amber Jamison is about to become the latest victim of a serial killer.  While walking down the street she is pushed into a white windowless van and taken somewhere.  Somehow, she is saved by a mysterious woman wearing a ski mask, who then disappears.  Who was she and how did she wind up in the same place as Amber and a serial killer?  You’d think this would be the end of Amber’s story, but it’s not.  Amber’s life is about to blow up. After law enforcement comes to talk to her, she runs and ends up in Las Vegas where she becomes the target of a prolific serial killer.  Can she survive?

Wow.  This book is just wow.  It starts off with a bang and completely lures you into the story.  I was very invested in Amber’s story and what was happening.  What I enjoyed the most about this book is that there were a lot of strong female characters.  They are strong, smart, funny, and caring (shh, don’t tell them).  Gagnon does a great job of keeping moments in the book lighthearted with the characters having a good sense of humor.  This made the book fresh – like something that I had never read before.  A little bit towards the middle it starts to drag, but towards the end it really picked up.  There were a few twists throughout that really got me!  And I was definitely fooled toward the end!!  I know the author mentioned that this may be turned into a series.  I would definitely read a follow up book to this one!

This book will be available on May 16, 2023. You can get your copy here.
