A Fatal Delivery

By: Lauren Oliver

Lenora is a delivery driver. She lives on routines. That is, until she went to deliver a package to Anne, a regular customer, and found her dead. The police do not seem to have any clues as to who might have killed Anne. Her nephew believes that Lenora killed her. The police don’t agree, but they do think she is the key to finding the killer. Especially because they made her an accomplice.

This is a novella/short story. I mean it’s really short – only 39 pages long. And I think that because it’s only 39 pages it didn’t really work for me. It took more pages than I would have liked with just a lot of telling/setting up. I think this story line is one that needed to be flushed out more. It was just kind of a let down.

Also, I didn’t like the ending at all. I don’t want to give anything away, but the reason why the killer got away with it seemed so far-fetched – and what I mean is the person that had the evidence in hand.

This is part of a series, The Deadly Ambition series, but is a standalone read.
