About the Book
I’ve been dreaming of my wedding to Finn since the moment he proposed: confetti and love in the air, champagne glasses held high, dancing into the future with the man I love. It should have been the happiest day of our lives. But he’s not waiting for me at the altar. He never arrives, and my heart breaks in two.
Everyone says Finn just got cold feet, but I know he’d never abandon me. And yet, as I look for him, I can’t help but question my own memories: was our first date as perfect as it seemed? Were the nights spent dancing around the apartment as happy for him as they were for me? Has the man I love been keeping secrets from me all along?
For six days, I search frantically for Finn, even as doubt creeps in. How long can my heart hold on to hope that our love story isn’t over? And when I find out the truth, will it heal the past or break me forever?
My Review
This was such a beautiful book. I read this one so fast; it is engaging, suspenseful, and heartbreaking all at the same time. When Gemma realized that Finn wasn’t showing at the wedding, my heart broke for her. I couldn’t even imagine what that felt like. At that point, I didn’t know Finn as a character yet, so of course I was pissed at him for being a coward. But as the book goes on, we get a glimpse of Gemma and Finn’s beginning through the chapters that are told in the past.
As I learned who Finn was and their story, I didn’t want to believe that he could hurt her like that. My thoughts were like Gemma’s thoughts. She knew Finn. She loved him. She never believed that he would hurt her like this. So she looked for evidence, and found evidence that he left on his own. But she didn’t still want to believe it. At that point, I wanted to shake her and say WAKE UP!
I believe in spoiler free reviews but I just want to say that Dani Atkins wrote the perfect ending for his book. I wanted actually. The ending had me on the edge of my seat.
This book is full of love – between partners, family, and friends. This one is really worth the read.
