I DEVOURED this book. It is SO good. It picks right up after the first one, and we get a lot of the same characters back – Harper, Nolan, Arthur, Luckas, and Sheriff Yates, among others. Yes, this is a dark romance with serial killers falling in love, but OMG NOLAN RHODES!!! Weaver made ME fall in love with him. I want my own Nolan now! The romance between Nolan and Harper is definitely HOT, but oh so good. And the banter between the two was perfect. I loved the notes that he left and how much he wants to protect her.
This book had a bit more suspense and mystery to it, which I really enjoyed. The twist at the end of the book was absolutely amazing, and not something that I saw happening. I can’t say anything else because I absolutely will not give anything away.
In this book, Harper is still thinking about the loss of Adam. We can feel the love that she had for him, and the fear she has of ever feeling like that again. I loved the way that Weaver didn’t rush Harper’s ability to deal with her trauma.
If you like dark romance, then please hurry and read this if you haven’t already. This book is AMAZING! Oh yeah, read Tourist Season first though.
