Ella Rose is an aspiring actress who is about to have a movie premiere with no date. Christian Lucas is a MLB player. Ella’s publicist sets her up on a date with Lucas so that she could bring him to the premiere. What started out as a set up became something completely unexpected. With both of their careers being demanding, they have to decide if they can withstand all the obstacles.
This book is inspired by the true story of Ashley and Daniel Eckstein. I absolutely love that this is book is inspired by their love story. I think knowing that going in really helped me connect with the characters as a couple. I literally was reading the book with a smile on my face sometimes.
Ella and Christian’s relationship doesn’t come without obstacles, but we know that obstacles are real. We also know that sometimes, when careers are both demanding, someone may take a step back. I think the obstacles and choices made by Ella and Christian are very real and relatable. Sometimes we aren’t at our best in our relationships, and sometimes we say things we shouldn’t say – so for me, Ella and Christian were authentic.
This is an easy read, everything flows so nicely. I really enjoyed this book and I hope other romance readers pick this one up.
