About the Book
She married my ex-husband. They’re living in my house. One of us won’t make it out alive…
I share a house with my ex-husband, Ben. A floor each, a schedule for taking turns to use the kitchen. It may sound odd but it’s all perfectly amicable. Then his new wife moves in…
Yasmin breezes in on a cloud of expensive perfume, and it’s clear Ben is besotted. But her perfect veneer soon starts to crack. I know she’s been in my room. And I realise I have more to fear than I’d ever imagined…
Then Ben disappears, and I’m alone in the house with her. I hear a noise in our basement. I run down the steps and the door slams behind me. But is it Yasmin turning the key in the lock, or is the truth even more dangerous?
And will I survive…?
My Review
This is my second book by this author, and I really need to read more. This book was addictive. It’s like that line from that TV show.. “you think you know, but you have no idea.” I had no idea which way this book was going to go. I thought it was going to go one way, and then there was a twist, then I thought it was going to go another way, and then a twist, and then another way, and another twist. It gave me whiplash in the best of ways!
I think one of the aspects that I enjoyed the most was that it was all in present time, no dual timelines, and it had one point of view. I feel like this is a rarity these days, and it really, really works well when it’s handled well. Because there was no pause in timelines, I never got myself out of the present action. For me, this made it flow so well.
There’s so much more I want to say, but I don’t want to give anything away. This is such a twisty, addictive thriller. It’s easy to read and you can read it in one sitting, or in a day. I highly recommend it. 4.5 stars for me! Bonus – It’s on Kindle Unlimited!
