Callahan Knight and Jasmina Ruiz come from rival families, and they shared one night together and thought that it would be it. The Ruiz family is in desperate need of help. So they arrange for Jas to marry Callahan. She says that he’s her enemy, but somewhere along the way she can’t decide if she wants to kill him or kiss him. He’s the Diamond Syndicate’s weapon, and she’s just as lethal.
I devoured this book. It is SOO good. I fell in love with this world in Behind Closed Doors, so I knew I was going to love this one no matter what.
This is a true enemies to lovers book. I don’t mean that they sort of just dislike each other, she tries to stab him, she destroys one of his building. She’s thought about being violent towards him more than once. He’s harmed her family in the past. But after the one night of bliss, he becomes obsessed with her. With his obsession comes possession and protection.
The banter is great in this one. I really loved that Jas wasn’t just a regular girl, but a girl from another mafia family. She is strong, lethal, smart, fierce, and totally able to protect herself.
I loved that Callahan is this Diamond Syndicate weapon, but is weak for Jas. I enjoyed seeing these two come together and realize that they are the perfect match. Oh, and the spice was spicing!
I feel like my review isn’t doing this book justice. Please, just go read it!
