“I love you, Rocha. And I’m really glad I didn’t kill you. Except when you leave ammunition on the coffee table – that makes me what to shoot you in the face.”
I will read anything that Brynne Weaver writes. Is this a 62 page novella? Yes it is. Do I wish it were longer? Yes I do!
Isla is a chef and an assassin. She has a target and she plans to kill him with one of her cakes. Except the cake went to the wrong person – another contract killer, Mateo Rocha. She decides to save him – he’s very attractive. They agree to work together to destroy their target and in the meantime, they fall for each other. But this target is highly guarded, and not an easy kill. One or both of them may not make it out alive.
I loved the concept of this novella, two assassins falling for each other. We got a complete story in the 62 pages, but I do think that if this were longer, I’d actually feel the chemistry between the two characters. That being said, they both were brilliant in their own way and worked together really well. There is also a lot of action in this short book and I LOVE me some action.
With it being so short, I was able to read this really quickly in one sitting. So if you’re looking for a good, quick read, check this one out! It’s on Kindle Unlimited.
